The iconic city from the Wizard of Oz comes to life in this architectural blueprint! I was commissioned to create my take on the skyline of Emerald City by a fan of the famous book, movie and TV series. My interpretation of the design of the city takes cues from passages of the 1900 'Wonderful Wizard of Oz' book, visual insight from the 1939 'The Wizard of Oz' movie, and playful interpretations of buildings from the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago (which inspired the illustrations of the original book).

My original notation and descriptions reflect how a real-life architect may technically describe the cityscape for construction. While most artistic renderings of the Emerald City show the structure partially in a 3D nature, Studio D'Amore takes it up a notch with a 'straight-on' or 'flattened' technical perspective of the entire skyline.

The blue paper with white linework is reminiscent of the traditional vintage blueprint style. This sophisticated drawing will age with your home, while you stay true to your passion. I hope this drawing brings you as much joy as the movies bring me!
